The first moorings registered in Lochgoilhead were for the Marksmen Moorings
Group in the 1970’s for local boat owners and by 1995 the total number had risen to
over forty with five visitor moorings. In 2002 it was decided to form a Jetty Trust
as a charity, to replace the old wooden jetty with a steel pontoon and bridge to the
shore and to administer these moorings.
In recent years we have added a further five visitor moorings which are often full
during the yachting season. The funding of this enterprise was through the Crown Estate,
Argyll & the Islands Enterprise, Awards for All, the Lochgoilhead Outdoor Centre and
local business.
The moorings provide a most sheltered and beautiful environment with easy access to
provisions and licenced premises for a minimum donation to maintain the facilities
to a high standard.
We look forward to an increasing volume of visitors and to the future development of the facility.
New from April 2011:
Wireless Internet access is now available. The signal is broadcast
over an area that covers all our moorings so when you visit, feel free to take advantage of
this service. Just look for, and connect to, the wireless signal called "Loch Goil Jetty Trust".
